Certifications
The course / hours count as Continuing Education hours for Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®) only.

This Yoga Alliance-certified training is both very accessible, scheduled to suit those with busy lives, and highly reputable, running for over 13 years, with wonderful testimonials from all who have completed it.

The LoveYoga teacher training weekend immersion is a transformational experience that enables a rite of passage of insight, self-discovery, and growth. It is a wonderful journey to embark upon that integrates not just into your practice and teaching, but also into your life. You will emerge from the experience with greater knowledge, deeper connection to breath and movement, and experiential understanding.

Group sizes are kept small to maximize the individual focus and attention needed for something so in-depth as this. The approach to the entire training comes from the understanding that everyone needs both compassion and strength.

The training builds on the traditional Ashtanga primary series, but steps much further into the realms or functional movement, somatics, and energetics. The instructor will ensure that you will be well-equipped with effective tools and techniques to support students and to develop your own personal practice, far beyond the yoga mat.

This weekend intensive will explore:
  • Breaking down a sun salute and slowly building it back up, with how, what, when, and where to adjust
  • Introduction to anatomy and look at an overview of the skeletal structure, the muscular system, and then taking a more in-depth look at the spine

You will also learn how to use Sanskrit appropriately in class, building it into the practice, learning the asana names of each part of a sun salute, how to get into each step, where the dristhi is, and what students can do to help with their alignment in each pose.

Moreover, you will explore meditation, breathwork, and the beginnings of human anatomy, including the spine, in order to complement the asana practice.

Over the weekend, you will learn how to lead a class starting with arriving in the space, set an intention, and move through a spinal warmup. This will flow into igniting the breath and moving through sun salute A and into sun salute B.

Over the course of the weekend, you will explore verbal, hands-on, group, and individual adjustments for each part of a sun salute, how to keep a rhythm, and techniques for beginners and more advanced students, as well as those with different injuries, so you explore at a pace that works for each different group.
